In addition to managing the university channels, our office provides support to administrators in units across the institution assigned with managing unit-specific social outreach.
Units who are considering starting a new WCU-branded social media channel should begin by submitting a social request at go.wcu.edu/ucmrequest. Once the request is submitte, our Social Media Manager with you to understand the resources, time commitment, and scheduling processes and planning that should be in place prior to implementing a social media platform on behalf of WCU. We will help you to assess which types of social media tools will work best to meet your goals and assist you through the process of establishing an officially recognized social media site.
University Communications and Marketing's Social Media Manager should be granted full access and credentials for any social media site posting on behalf of WCU; accounts will only be accessed in the case of a communications emergency.
Social media accounts that are not logged with University Communications and Marketing should not be linked through the university website or promoted by departments.
