Intramural Sports offers a wide array of leagues and tournaments throughout the year. 
Intramural Sports are free for students and members of the Campus Recreation Center. For more information, check out the IM Participant Guide.

League Format: Teams will play 3-4 regular season games, followed by single elimination playoffs for an additional 1-3 games depending on the number of particpating teams.  For the regular season, teams will be able to select the day and time that works best for them!

Champions of any league or tournament win a tshirt. Register for all programs at recconnect.wcu.edu

 How to Participate

All intramural participants are required to have an IMLeagues account before they participate. Participants will be required to enter their WCU username and password before being logged into IMLeagues. After the first time logging in, you will log-in with your these credentials everytime. IMLeagues offers a live support button in the bottom right corner of all pages, please use this button if you encounter any difficulties.

If you are a current student/faculty/staff:

  1. Go to recconnect.wcu.edu and log in using your WCU credentials.
  2. Enter your information.You must use your WCU email account and submit. Students (@catamount.wcu.edu); Faculty/Staff (@wcu.edu or @email.wcu.edu)
  3. You will be sent an activation email. Click the link in the email to login and activate your IMLeagues account.
  4. You should be automatically joined to WCU; if not you can search schools by clicking the "Schools" link.

If you are a non-student/faculty/staff:

  1. First, see if you are eligible to participate by looking at the Intramural Sport Participant Guide. Anyone who has an active Campus Recreation membership is eligible.
  2. If you are eligible to play, but don't have a CRC Membership, then you must pay a $25 Semester Intramural Fee.
  3. Go to www.imleagues.com, click Create Account. Do not select Western Carolina University.
  4. Enter your information.
  5. You will be sent an activation email. Click the link in the email to login and activate your IMLeagues account.
  6. A request will then be sent to the Assistant Director of Sport Programs, who will verify your eligibility.
  1. Log in to your IMLeagues account through recconnect.wcu.edu using your WCU credentials.
  2. Click on Intramural Sports at the top.
  3. The current sports will be displayed. Click on the sport you wish to join.
  4. Choose the league you wish to play in (Men's, Women's, Co-Rec, etc.)
  5. You can join the sport one of three ways by clicking on the green Register/Signup button. 
  6. Captains can also invite members to their team by clicking the "Invite Members" link on the team page. Any invited members must accept the invitation to be joined to your team.
  7. If players have already registered on IMLeagues: search for their name, and invite them.
  8. If they haven't yet registered on IMLeagues: scroll down to the "Invite by Email Address" box, and input their email address.
  1. Accept a request from a captain to join their team.
  2. Find a team and captain name on division/league page and request to join.
  3. Go to the captain's player card page, view their team, and request to join.

Participants who are interested in playing an Intramural Sport, but do not have a team can register as a free agent. There are a number of different ways that you can keep yourself in the game!

  1. Select the sport that you are interested in signing up to play
    1. Select the league that you wish to participate in (i.e. Men's Competitive, Co-Rec, etc.).
    2. Click the Free Agent link.
    3. Input information about yourself and skill level.
  2. Post information about yourself i.e. played club for 4 years, very competitive, just looking for fun.
  3. Get picked up on game day as a Free Agent. Come out to the fields during Intramural Sports contests—many teams are looking for players at the last minute. Sometimes, the easiest way to get picked up is to be ready to go when games are happening!
