Dr. Sara Duncan (she/her) joined the faculty in the School of Health Sciences in the Environmental Health Sciences Program in August 2019. She achieved her Ph.D. in Environmental Exposure Science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 2018 and her Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science from Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2012.<br><br>In her free time she enjoys cooking, trail running, and laying in her hammock
Sara teaches Air Quality Control, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Toxicology, and Solid and Hazardous Waste Management in the Environmental Health Program. She aims to integrate real-world applications and research experiences in her classrooms.
Sara's research focuses on assessing and reducing rural air pollution exposures, citizen science, science education, and environmental justice in Western NC.
