Advising Appointments in Navigate

Follow the steps below to make an Advising Appointment:

  1. Log on myWCU and click on Advising/Tutoring link in the Quick Links box.
    • This takes you to Navigate.

  2. Click the blue "Get Advising" button on page right.

  3. Under the Reason tab select one of the following 4 choices from the drop down menu:
    • Advising
    • Career Services
    • Faculty Advising
    • Pre-professional advising

  4. Select a more specific advising option from the next drop down menu that appears and click Next.
    • Options include Change Major/Minor, General, Transfer issues, etc.

  5. Under the Location & Advisor tab select the appropriate location which includes the following offices, and click Next:
    • Advising Center
    • TRACS (known as Suite 201)
    • Student Support Services (or MAPS)
    • Brinson Honors College

  6. Select the advisor you want to meet with from the next drop down menu that appears and click Next.

  7. Under the Time Select tab, you will see the advisor's daily availability split between a Morning and Afternoon option.
    • Available times are indicated by a blue button.
    • Use the > button to move to the next week.
    • Click on a blue button for Morning or Afternoon and select a time.

  8. You will now see your appointment details under the Confirm tab.
    • You can add additional comments for your advisor.
      • If changing your major, be sure to indicate the major you want in the comments box.
    • You can click to get a reminder by email or text .
      • Text reminders require you to enter your mobile number.

  9. Click the Confirm Appointment button.

To Cancel an Appointment using Navigate, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into Navigate via myWCU and select the appointment from list on page right that you want to cancel.

  2. Click the reason that you made the appointment (Course Withdrawal, etc.)

  3. Click Cancel my Attendance.

  4. Select from the drop down menu the reason for canceling the scheduled appointment and enter any additional comments.

  5. To make a new appointment, begin with step 1 under "To Make an Appointment..."

If unable to schedule an appointment, check out these trouble shooting tips:

  • Try going directly into the Navigate website by typing into the address bar of your browser.

  • If you are still unable to make an appointment through Navigate, call 828-227-7753 and the Advising Center receptionist will schedule an appointment for you.
    • Let your advisor know that you had trouble scheduling your appointment so he or she can walk you through the process when you meet.
