We consider essays, book reviews, and exhibition reviews for publication from students who are currently pursuing an MA in history at colleges and universities throughout the Southeastern United States. It is our mission to present the best work that MA students have to offer, while simultaneously giving graduate students quality experience in academic publishing.
As the only journal in the United States that caters exclusively to MA history students, the purpose and mission of the TVHR is very unique. Published annually by the graduate students of Western Carolina University,the TVHR offers graduate students the opportunity to publish their work and to gain professional experience in all facets of academic publication.
Whether you plan to teach, work in a museum, or enroll in a PhD program, the TVHR will help prepare you for an academic career. Students in our program who work on the TVHR gain valuable and practical experience when it comes to the publication, editorial, and peer review process.
