WCU will host a series of three lectures on environmental ethics by Christian Diehm, professor of philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, in late March.

Forensic Anthropology Program expands, gains prominence

In 2019, a research team from WCU’s Forensic Anthropology Program began a concentrated search for the airman, drawing on local interviews, anecdotal information and lots of onsite field work, including excavations. They found Sgt. Francis W. Wiemerslage.

Engineering students collaborate to design and build a solar tracking array

For a junior design class, three engineering students built a solar tracking array that finds and tracks the sun to keep solar panels optimally aligned with it as the Earth rotates.

Spring semester enrollment dips, with increase of new graduate and distance students

Total enrollment has dipped slightly by 2.7% for the 2022 spring semester, while the number of new graduate students and distance students enrolled increased.

When Vicki Szabo, associate professor of history, finished her 2008 book on medieval whaling, she quipped in the acknowledgements she would remember all her WCU colleagues when it was made into a feature film.

School of Engineering and Technology receives nearly $1.5 million science grant

A program to foster the development of future technology entrepreneurs has gained monumental support through an almost $1.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation.

Stephanie Cook, Second Place in the Three-Minute Thesis Competition

Stephanie Cook, current student in the Master of Arts in English program, was awarded second place in the 2021 Three Minute Thesis Competition for her presentation on “H.D.’s Waves: A Modernist Confluence of Literature, Science, and Spirituality.”
